A quick note here – regarding Irans claim that it downed a drone.

It is sad to me that I believe Irans version of the story over the United States version. The previous lost drone was denied by the US until Iran came out with pictures. The CIA and the military has done nothing but lie to us regarding its involvment in Iraq, Libya and Syria, and thus has no credibility. Will President Obama please do something to reign in the CIA and the military industrial complex an reverse the distrust in the federal goverment?
I agree with you Dan. The US is completely unreliable when it comes to telling the truth about foreign affairs.
Unfortunately one of the things I have learned from reading many books about the US and the world in the last 100 years is that the President DOES NOT have the authority or knowledge you think he/she would have. Career specialists in the State Dept, CIA, etc… OFTEN go against the wishes of the current administration.
The administration has to defend these policies in public but there are often bitter battles behind the scenes, even with the Presidential picks of cabinet heads and their subordinates who should be running the departments.
This is one of the reasons that the Republican Senators who are attacking the administration on the Benghazi attack should be ashamed of themselves. They know perfectly well that the President probably had no knowledge what was happening and that it was the Head of the CIA that should be queried and/or blamed.
Its interesting that nobody even questions anymore whether the CIA is overstepping their bounds. The CIA has killed hundreds of people with the secret drone program, and this is supposed to help us gain allies througout the world?
